PMA vs. OEM Filters
When it comes to aircraft filters, there are two main choices: OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and PMA (Parts Manufacturer Approval).
Both types must meet the same requirements for filtration efficiency, material strength, fluid compatibility, and resistance to pressure and temperature. The difference often comes down to:
- Design: PMA filters may use newer materials or manufacturing processes that help improve performance or lifespan.
- Cost: PMA filters are often more affordable than OEM filters, making them a good option for operators.
